You will need to figure out good matches for you when selecting universities. Most importantly, does a university have a good reputation for the major you’ve already selected. With some time and effort you can target the right schools for you!
Research, ask questions and create your short list of schools!

Start: April 01, 2023 | Complete: April 30, 2023
To setup your journey for success, follow the plan of action below. Do your best to follow the calendar dates indicated for maximum effectiveness.
April 1st to April 15th
Research universities for selected majors.
Give yourself options. Think about the location and utilize all the resources available to you.
Your goal is to find schools (universities) that are the right fit for you!
Reach out to the International Office with any questions you may have. Some schools have student ambassadors that can also help you with such things amongst others.
April 15th to April 30th
Narrow Down to 12 Universities. (4 Top Rank, 4 Medium Rank, 4 Low Rank)
What are the universities you know you will be accepted at based on your qualifications? Which are schools that you could consider “stretch goals” but may have a stronger academic reputation? Which schools are the best of the best? You will want to have a variety of choices.
Rankings:
- Top: 1 to 60
- Medium: 61 to 120
- Low: 120+
As you narrow down on choices of universities, your goal is to have a good mix that gives you the best chance for acceptance and for attending the type of school that’s best for you.

Assuming you not have taken your SAT/ACT yet, the idea is to pick schools from each of the 3 ranking tiers identified above. Based on your SAT/ACT score we will narrow it down to 8-10 schools, later in the process.
