Step 1: Choose Major
Choose MajorYour first important step on your journey is to choose a major. You will look at different available resources, and once you have a grasp of what you want, you can narrow it all down – no problem! -
Step 2: Choose Universities
Choose UniversitiesYou need to figure out suitable matches when choosing universities. Most importantly, does a university have a good reputation for the master’s program you’ve chosen already? -
Step 3: GRE/GMAT
It’s time to hit the books and study for either the GRE or the GMAT. A good score will give you the advantage of setting the right path for your future. -
Step 4: TOEFL/IELTS
It’s time to hit the books and study for either the TOEFL or the IELTS. A good score will give you the advantage of setting the right path for your future. -
Step 5: University Applications
You need to follow the recommended steps to prepare your university applications. Be thorough and detailed with your documentation. Get organized and ready to apply to your chosen universities! -
Step 6: Statement of Purpose
Now it’s time to create your statement of purpose. It’s always good to review this with an expert to get help. Create a draft, have it reviewed, make your revisions, then finalize and print it out! -
Step 7: Letter of Recommendation
You need to think about your professors, mentors, and employers who will write you a sparkling letter of recommendation! Identify three candidates to write your recommendations. -
Step 8: Transcripts
The universities you apply to will need your transcripts. You need to request and send them to the universities. Request and follow-up to ensure the universities receive your transcripts. -
Step 9: Submit Test Scores
It’s time to submit your test scores to the universities you’ve selected! Identify schools and their school codes and requirements, then submit your scores. -
Step 10: Show Solvency
In this step, you need to prove solvency. You will demonstrate your assets and liquidity to justify you have the means to pay for your living costs. -
Step 11: Submit University Applications
You’re finally ready to pay the application fees and submit your university applications. You’ve put together documents needed to support your applications. It’s time to submit your applications. -
Step 12: Immunization Plan
You will need to know the right immunizations you need. Having an immunization plan will help you get vaccinations in your home country and save you hundreds of dollars. -
Step 13: Visa Application Overview
Four types of visas apply to students, but typically the F-1 Visa type of visa applies to students who want to study as a full-time student at an accredited college or University. -

In this step, you will need to ensure that you have all your financial documentation ready to go. Gather mandatory and optional financial documentation. -

A lot of people get nervous about their upcoming Visa interview. That’s understandable. But the first step is to schedule your visa appointment. -

Next up is one of our favorite steps – Shopping. After all, who doesn’t like shopping? When you move to a different part of the world, you’ll need a few things to make your new lifestyle comfortable. -
Step 20: Health & Immunization
Ensure that you are up to date with any changes to the immunizations required and that you have your records ready to go. You are going to need health insurance as well. -

As part of your housing research, you will need to find out if you’re required to have on-campus housing or if you are allowed to live off-campus. Know the housing rules of your university! -

It’s time to exchange your local currency for US Dollars. Your goal is to have enough money in US Dollars to pay for travel, college fees, and other expenses. -
Step 24: Departure Preparation
Getting ready for your trip is fun and exciting. Take a minute to make sure you have everything you need! Pack essential items to bring on your trip before your departure. -
Step 25: Housing
Finalizing housing means it is time to sign your contract and get moved in! You will need to find time to get your utility set up and go shopping. Sign contract, move in, and set up! -
Step 26: Campus Visit
It’s time to get yourself oriented to the campus. As part of your campus visit, visit the student union and buildings where your classes are located and research job opportunities on campus. -
Step 27: Plan Semester
Time to get ready for an awesome semester! You need to complete enrollment for your classes and attend orientations. Research and enroll in classes and go to orientation!
